THIS TONER CARTRIDGE DOES NOT HAVE INTEGRATED DRUM UNIT.  THE DRUM IS A SEPARATE UNIT FROM THE TONER CARTRIDGE.

There are 4 colors in this series; Black, Cyan, Magenta, and Yellow.

These are compatible cartridges so there will be some differences between these cartridges and the OEM.  These differences will not affect the function.

Not Recognizing

Verify they have the correct cartridge for their specific printer model.

Make sure the correct color cartridge is being installed into the correct color slot.

Ensure that the cartridge is installed properly and fully inserted into the printer.

–          Push the new toner cartridge in as far as possible.  Make sure you are installing the correct color into the correct color slot.

–          Return the knob to its original position.  Before you turn the knob, make sure that the toner cartridge is pushed into the machine as far as possible.

–          Close the front cover of the main unit.  Confirm the message displayed on the touch panel display.  Press YES.

Print Quality Issues

For any print quality issue you will want to try to determine if the problem is occurring with a specific color or if it is occurring across the board.  Check printed documents to see if the issue is only occurring where a specific color is.

There’s a piece of tape covering the toner shutter which must be removed prior to installation.

Holding both ends of the toner cartridge, shake it side to side a few times to distribute the toner evenly.  Sometimes the toner powder inside can become compacted.

If streaks appear on printed output, or random parts of the printed image are missing, the inside of the main unit may be dirty.  In this case, clean the inside of the main unit by running the following cleaning;

–          Press Additional Functions, then select Adjustment/Cleaning, and then Cleaning inside the Main Unit.

–          Press Start to begin cleaning.  The cleaning takes approx. 3 minutes and 10 seconds to complete.

If the dust proof glass is dirty, print defects may occur on the print output.  To clean the dust proof glass do the following;

–          Open the front cover of the main unit.

–          Remove the dust proof glass cleaner from the rear side of the front cover.

–          Grip the dust proof glass cleaner by its tab, and slowly pull and push it back and forth inside the machine (5 or 6 times).  Clean the four different locations.  There are marks on the main unit that indicate the cleaning locations.  Check these marks when cleaning the dust proof glass.

–          When you have finished cleaning the dust proof glass, gently push the dust proof glass cleaner back onto the rear side of the front cover.

–          Close the front cover of the main unit.

Streaking, lines, ghost images, and repeating image defects are drum related issues.  The drum is separate from the toner cartridges.

Not Fitting

Verify they have the correct cartridge for their specific printer model.  Verify the correct color is being installed into the correct slot in the printer.  Make sure the cartridge is being installed in the correct orientation.  Check inside the printer for any obstructions which may be causing the cartridge not to install correctly.  Check the cartridge itself for physical damage.
