THIS IS A TONER THAT HAS THE OPC DRUM BUILT INTO THE CARTRIDGE ITSELF AND IS REPLACED AS ONE WHOLE UNIT.  THERE IS NO SEPARATE DRUM UNIT FOR THE COMPATIBLE.

This is a compatible cartridge so there will be some differences between this and the OEM.  These differences will not affect the function.  On our compatible cartridge drum unit is built into the cartridge itself and is not removable whereas on the OEM the drum unit is separate from the toner cartridge.  They will need to remove both their old OEM toner and OEM drum from printer and install our compatible to replace both.

Not Recognizing

Verify they have the correct cartridge for their specific printer model.

This toner cartridge does not use a smart chip.  It uses a page counter that must be MANUALLY reset when the new toner cartridge is installed.  If the toner is still reading low or reads that the toner is out then the page count was not reset when the new toner was installed.  If this happened and the new toner is already installed do the following;

–          Press Function.

–          Press 7, 8, then Set.

–          Press 5 and then Set.

–          Press 1.

To remove and install this cartridge into a Panasonic UF-6950 and UF-7950 printer do the following;

–          Open the front cover.

–          Lift the toner cartridge up.  If they are replacing an OEM toner make sure they lift both the OEM toner and OEM drum unit together.

–          Using the handles, remove the toner cartridge from the printer.  If they are replacing an OEM toner make sure they remove both the OEM toner and OEM drum unit together.

–          Our compatible toner cartridge has the drum built in and will be installed as one complete unit.  Place the cartridge over the guide rails and insert it until it stops.

–          Push the toner cartridge down until it clicks into place.

–          Close the front cover.

–          The printer will ask is a new toner was replaced.  Press 1 to select Yes.  This will reset the page count.  If this step is skipped or if No is selected then the printer will still read the toner as low or needing replacing.

Print Quality Issues

There is a piece of paper held on by tape on the front of the cartridge which will need to be removed prior to installation.

Holding the cartridge by its sides, gently roll it from left to right a few times to redistribute the toner.

If the toner is smearing off the paper or isn’t adhering properly, make sure the paper settings on the printer match the paper type being used.  Thicker paper, such as labels or bonded paper, require a different paper setting to allow more heating while printing to ensure the toner melts properly to the paper.  Trying to print on thicker paper while under that standard paper setting will cause the toner not to get enough heat to melt properly.

The OPC drum is located on the bottom of the cartridge.  Visually inspect the OPC drum for damage or debris.  Do NOT touch the drum.  A soft, dry, clean, lint-free, cloth can be used to gently clean the OPC drum if needed.  Do NOT use moisture of any kind.

Leaking

This toner does not have any pull seal tabs and as a result a little toner dust on the cartridge is normal.  The protective paper cover that covers the OPC drum helps contain any loose dust.  However, vibrations during shipping may cause the roller to rotate a little and allow a little toner powder to leak.  This is normal.  You can clean excess toner dust off the cartridge by gently wiping the cartridge with a clean, dry, lint-free cloth or gently blowing on it.  Be careful with compressed air as this may blow too powerfully and blow toner powder out of the cartridge.  Do NOT use moisture of any kind.

Not Fitting

Verify they have the correct cartridge for their specific printer model.  If they are replacing an OEM toner make sure that they removed the OEM drum as well before installing our compatible cartridge.  Our compatible cartridge has the drum unit integrated with the toner cartridge.  Check inside the printer for any obstructions.  Check the cartridge itself for physical damage.
