Print Quality Issues
There’s a piece of foam which protects the OPC drum that must be removed prior to installation.
There is a pull tape seal on the side of the cartridge which must be removed prior to installation. It is important that this pull tape seal is completely removed. If the cartridge is printing blank pages then the pull tape seal probably hasn’t been removed or has broken off inside the cartridge while being removed.
Gently shake the cartridge to redistribute the toner powder inside the cartridge.
If the toner is smearing off the paper or isn’t adhering properly, make sure the paper settings on the printer match the paper type being used. Thicker paper, such as labels or bonded paper, require a different paper setting to allow more heating while printing to ensure the toner melts properly to the paper. Trying to print on thicker paper while under that standard paper setting will cause the toner not to get enough heat to melt properly.
The OPC drum is located on the bottom of the cartridge protected by a spring loaded plastic shutter. Lift the shutter to view the OPC drum. Do NOT touch the drum. Visually inspect the OPC drum for damage or debris. A soft, clean, dry, lint-free cloth can be used to gently wipe the OPC drum if needed. Do NOT use moisture of any kind.
If white lines are appearing on the printed pages, then the laser lens may be dirty on the printer. To clean the laser lens do the following;
– Open the top cover.
– Hold the toner cartridge by the grip, and then pull it out slowly.
– Clean the laser lens by wiping them with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth. Do NOT use moisture of any kind.
– Hold the toner cartridge by the grip, and then insert it into the slot inside of the printer.
– Close the top cover securely.
Not Fitting
Verify they have the correct cartridge for their specific printer model. Check inside the printer for any debris or obstructions which may be interfering with the cartridge fitting. Check the cartridge itself for physical damage.
