THIS TONER CARTRIDGE DOES NOT HAVE THE OPC DRUM INTEGRATED. THE DRUM IS SEPARATE.
Not Recognizing
Verify they have the correct cartridge for their specific printer model.
To remove and install this toner cartridge into the Canon ImageRunner 3050 do the following;
– Open the front cover.
– Pull the toner cartridge lever (A) towards you.
– Turn the lever as far as it will go clockwise.
– Pull the toner cartridge out of the printer.
– Pull the toner cartridge lever (A) towards you and insert the new toner cartridge into the printer with the arrow (B) pointing towards the printer.
– Turn the toner cartridge lever as far as it will go counterclockwise.
– Push down the lever.
– Close the front cover.
Print Quality Issues
IMPORTANT: If the toner cartridge has been installed do NOT shake the used toner cartridge or hold it in a vertical position. Doing so may cause the toner to spill.
If black streaks appear with printing, the fuser roller in the main unit may be dirty. Should this occur, clean the fuser roller in the following procedure. The roller should also be cleaned each time the toner cartridge is replaced.
– Press [ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS].
– Press [◄-] or [+►] to select <ADJUST./CLEANING>, then press [OK].
– Open the stack bypass.
– Pull out the stack bypass extension until it clicks, then open it.
– Load a sheet of blank letter paper.
– Press [◄-] or [+►] to select <FIX. UNIT CLEANING>, then press [OK]. The cleaning will start and take around 1.5 minutes
For other minor print quality issues the drum unit may be dirty. Should this occur, use the drum cleaning function to clean the drum outlined below;
– Press [ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS].
– Press [◄-] or [+►] to select <ADJUST./CLEANING>, then press [OK].
– Press [◄-] or [+►] to select <DRUM CLEANING>, then press [OK]. Cleaning starts. When finished, the display returns to the standby mode.
Lines, streaking, ghost images, and repeating image defects are drum related issues. The drum unit is a separate, replaceable, maintenance item.
Not Fitting
Verify they have the correct cartridge for their specific printer model. Check to make sure the cartridge is being installed in the correct orientation. Check inside the printer for any obstructions or debris which may be stopping the cartridge from being installed. Check the cartridge itself for physical damage.
