THESE TONER CARTRIDGES DOE NOT HAVE AN INTEGRATED DRUM UNIT.  THE DRUM IS A SEPARATE UNIT FROM THE TONER CARTRIDGES.

There are four colors in this series; Black, Yellow, Magenta, and Yellow.

This is a compatible cartridge so there will be differences from the OEM cartridge.  These differences will not affect the function of the cartridge.

Not Recognizing

Verify they have the correct cartridge for their specific printer model.

These cartridges use a RF or radio frequency sensor chip that’s located on the end of the cartridge. This chip does not make physical contact with the printer but rather sits in a specific position to be picked up by the printer’s sensor. Make sure that the cartridge is properly inserted and locks into place to ensure the chip is in the correct position. If the problem persists it is most likely an issue with the chip on the cartridge.

To remove and install the toner cartridge into a Ricoh MP C3500/C4500 printer do the following;

–          Open the front cover of the printer.

–          Make note of the different locations of the color cartridges.  Pull out the color toner cartridge needing replacing slowly.

–          Make sure you have the correct color cartridge for the color being replaced.  Check the orientation of the toner cartridge and insert it carefully into the printer.

–          Close the printer cover.

Print Quality Issues

Hold the toner cartridge and shake it 5 or 6 times.

Try to determine if the print quality issue is occurring with one color in particular or if it’s occurring across all the print.  This will help pinpoint if the problem is with one toner cartridge or if it’s a larger issue.

Ghosting, lines, streaking, and repeating defects will be a drum related issue.  The drum unit is separate from the toner cartridges.

Not Fitting

Verify they have the correct cartridges for their specific printer model.  Make sure they correct color cartridge is being installed into the correct color slot.  Check inside the printer for any obstructions.  Check the cartridge itself for physical damage.
