THIS IS A TONER THAT HAS THE OPC DRUM BUILT INTO THE CARTRIDGE ITSELF AND IS REPLACED AS ONE WHOLE UNIT. THERE IS NO SEPARATE DRUM UNIT.
Not Recognizing
Verify you have the correct cartridge for your specific printer model.
There is no smart chip on this cartridge so it’s key that the cartridge is installed correctly into the printer and is fully inserted.
PAPER JAMS – The HP printers that use this cartridge have a tendency to throw a paper jam error message when the paper tray has 10 pages or less. The machine is not able to grab the paper properly. If you are getting the paper jam message, make sure you have ample paper in the paper tray.
Print Quality Issues
There’s a pull tape seal on the side of the cartridge that must be removed prior to installation. It is important that this pull tape seal has been fully removed. If the cartridge is printing blank pages then the pull tape seal probably has not been removed or it has broken off inside the cartridge when it was pulled.
Rotate the cartridge and gently shake it from side to side to distribute the toner evenly inside the cartridge.
The OPC drum is located on the bottom of the cartridge protected by a spring loaded plastic shutter. Lift the plastic shutter to view the OPC drum. Do NOT touch the drum. Visually inspect the drum for damage or debris. If needed, a soft, clean, dry, lint-free cloth can be used to gently clean the OPC drum. Do NOT use moisture of any kind.
