Canon FM2-5533-000 Waste Toner Container

THIS IS NOT A TONER CARTRIDGE. IT IS A MAINTENANCE ITEM THAT COLLECTS THE EXCESS TONER FROM NORMAL PRINTING AND WILL NEED TO BE REPLACED ONCE IT BECOMES FULL.

This is a compatible waste toner box so there will be some differences between this and the OEM, however these differences will not affect function.

Not Recognizing

There is no smart chip on this waste toner box. Make sure they are not accidently installing a previously used waste toner box. Make sure the error message they are receiving is not referencing a toner cartridge or drum unit. This is NOT a toner cartridge or drum unit.

To remove and install this into a Canon ImageRunner C2550 do the following;

– Open the front cover of the main unit.

– Lift the lever.

– Pull out the waste toner container.

– Insert the new waste toner container. When inserting the new waste toner container, line up the part indicated by the circle on the waste toner container with the main unit.

– Return the lever to its original position.

– Close the front cover of the main unit.

Print Quality Issues

The waste toner box has no affect on print quality. It is NOT a toner cartridge or drum unit, it’s simply a container to hold the excess toner from normal printer for disposal later.

Not Fitting

Verify they have the correct waste toner box for their printer. Make sure they weren’t trying to order a toner cartridge.

There is a piece of tape which must be removed from the cartridge prior to installation.
