THIS IS A TONER THAT HAS THE OPC DRUM BUILT INTO THE CARTRIDGE ITSELF AND IS REPLACED AS ONE WHOLE UNIT.  THERE IS NO SEPARATE DRUM UNIT.

Not Recognizing

Verify you have the correct cartridge for your specific printer model.

There is a smart chip connector on the left side of the cartridge.  When the cartridge is inserted into the printer, this connector plugs into a sensor in the printer.  Make sure the cartridge is installed correctly and that it is fully inserted into the printer.

Print Quality Issues

There is a piece of paper that wraps around the OPC drum which will need to be removed prior to installation.

There is a pull tape seal on the side of the cartridge which must be removed.  It’s best to remove the tape while the cartridge is in the printer to prevent any toner leakage.  It is important that this pull tape seal is fully removed.  If the cartridge is printing blank pages then the pull tape seal probably hasn’t been removed or has broken off inside the cartridge while being removed.

Holding the cartridge by its ends, gently shake the cartridge to redistribute the toner powder.
