THESE TONER CARTRIDGES DO NOT HAVE THE OPC DRUMS BUILT IN. THE DRUM UNIT IS A SEPARATE, REPLACEABLE, MAINTENANCE ITEM.
There are 4 colors in this series; Black, Cyan, Magenta, and Yellow.
These cartridges are compatible cartridges and may appear to look different from the OEM. These cartridges are the same as the Dell 3100 series printer cartridges, just with a different chip.
Not Recognizing
Verify they have the correct cartridges for their specific model printer.
These cartridges use a RF or radio frequency sensor chip. This chip does not make physical contact with the printer but rather sits in a specific position to be picked up by the printer’s sensor. Make sure that the cartridge is properly inserted and locks into place to ensure the chip is in the correct position. If the problem persists it is most likely an issue with the chip on the cartridge.
These cartridges install into a color laser printer that uses a carousel setup. For more information on carousel printers please see the CSR Blog link below;

To remove and install these cartridges into a Dell 3010cn printer do the following;
– Press MENU.
– Press ▼ until REPLACE TONER appears, and then press ►.
– Press ▲▼ until the desired toner color to be replaced appears, and then press ENTER.
– Grab the notch in the front door and pull forward. The toner cartridge that must be replaced has moved to the front of the printer.
– Push the handhold on the right up to unlock the cartridge.
– Hold the toner cartridge and pull out the cartridge.
– Make sure you have the correct color cartridge for the color being replaced. To insert the toner cartridge, face the label on the cartridge to the front and align it with the arrows on the printer.
– Guide the cartridge until it snaps into place.
– Push down the handhold to lock the cartridge in place. If you find it difficult to push down the handhold, remove the cartridge and insert the cartridge again.
– If replacing just one toner cartridge, close the front door and you are finished. If replacing multiple cartridges repeat the above steps for each color being replaced.
Print Quality Issues
There is a pull tape seal on the cartridge which must be removed prior to installation.
Gently shake the toner cartridge to distribute the toner evenly.
If there are white lines or toner specks on the page then the printer should be cleaned. To clean the printer do the following;
– Open the front door.
– Pull out the slide bar that is inside the printer on the right side until it stops. The access window cover slides open.
– Hold the cleaning rod and push the rod in and pull out once to clean inside the printer.
– Push the slide bar back to its original position.
– Close the front door.
There is a diagnostic menu on the printer that can be accessed which will allow you to print a print quality test page that will output each color at 20% coverage to help determine where print quality issues are occuring. To access this menu and print the print quality test page do the following;
– Turn off the printer.
– Turn on the printer while holding down ▲ and ▼. The Customer Mode menu appears.
– On the Customer Mode Menu go down to Cyan20%, Magenta20%, Yellow20%, or Black20% and press ENTER to print the page.
Look at the outputted pages to determine if the print quality issue is occuring with one color in particular or if it is occuring across all the colors.
Almost all repetitive image defects, ghosting, lines, and streaking issues will be an issue with the drum unit. The drum unit is separate and is a maintenance item that will need to changed, usually after 4-6 toner changes.
Not Fitting
Verify they have the correct cartridges for their specific printer model. Make sure the correct color cartridge is being installed into the correct slot. Check inside the printer for any obstructions. Check the cartridge itself for physical damage.
