Not Recognizing
Verify you have the correct cartridges for your specific model printer.
There is a smart chip located on the top end of the cartridge. Check the chip for damage or debris. You can use a soft, dry, lint-free cloth to gently wipe the gold contacts.
Check to make sure the cartridge is installed correctly and fully inserted into the printer. You want to push the cartridge in until the locking tab locks into place.
Print Quality Issues
There’s no pull tape seal to remove on these cartridges.
The drum unit is a separate, replaceable maintenance item. There is also a waste toner bin that is a separate, replaceable, maintenance item. If they get an error message regarding their waste toner bin then they will need to replace it. We do not currently carry the drum unit, however we do carry replacement waste toner bins.
The drum unit will need to be replaced usually after 4-6 toner cartridge changes.
The waste toner bin is located next to the toner cartridges in the printer. This is sold separately and will eventually need to be replaced.
Almost all streaking, lines, ghost imaging, and repetitive print defects will be a result of an issue with their drum unit.
If you are getting light prints then you may be getting low on toner. You can also try shaking the toner by holding it by its ends and gently rolling it left to right a few times to evenly distribute the toner powder inside the cartridge.
