THIS IS A TONER CARTRIDGE THAT DOES NOT HAVE THE OPC DRUM INTEGRATED. THE OPC DRUM IS A SEPARATE, REPLACEABLE, MAINTENACE ITEM.
The 43502301 standard yield cartridge can be used the B4600 and B4400 series printers, however not all the printers can use the 43502001 high yield cartridge. Double check the printer’s User’s Guide to see which cartridges are compatible with that printer.
Not Recognizing
Verify you have the correct cartridge for your specific model printer.
There is a smart chip located on one end of the cartridge. Verify that this chip is not damaged or dirty. A clean, soft, lint-free cloth or cotton swab can be used to gently clean the two gold connection points
Make sure the cartridge is installed correctly and the lock knob is twisted completely to the locked position.
You will be re-using the printer’s drum unit. Make sure you have separated the old toner cartridge from the drum unit and are installing the new cartridge into the same drum unit.

When locking the cartridge into the drum unit, have them hold the cartridge down while twisting the lock to make sure it locks completely into place.
Print Quality Issues
These are basic toner cartridges that do not have OPC drums built into them. The drum is a completely separate and replaceable item.
There is a piece of sealing tape that covers the toner openings on the bottom of the cartridge which must be removed prior to installation.
You can try redistributing the toner powder inside the cartridge by shaking it side to side over a trash can.
Streaking, ghost images, repeating image imprints, and lines are almost always a drum related issue. The drum unit will need replacing from time to time based on the amount of pages they print.
