Not Recognizing

Verify you have the correct cartridge for your specific model printer.

There’s no smart chip on this cartridge.  Try shaking the cartridge and making sure it is installed correctly as well as fully inserted.  The cartridge will need to be slid to the right once it’s pushed into the printer which is indicated by arrows in the printer.  You can also try tapping and shaking the cartridge.

There’s a waste toner bin that’s included with the toner cartridge which must be replaced.  The waste toner bin should inserted after installing the new cartridge as it will need to installed in front of the toner cartridge.  Remove the old waste toner bin and simply insert the new one in its place.

If the front cover of the printer won’t close this means the waste toner bin is not installed correctly.  Re-adjust the waste toner bin and make sure it’s fully pushed into the printer.

Print Quality Issues

Hold the toner cartridge vertically and tap the top 15 times.  Turn the cartridge upside down and tap the top 15 times.  Then, hold the container horizontally and shake it from side to side 10 times to loosen and evenly distribute the toner inside.

Most streaking, lines, ghost images, and repeating image defects will be an issue with the drum.  The drum unit is separate from the cartridge.
