To remove and install this toner cartridge into a Konica Minolta PageWorks 20 printer do the following;
– Press the upper cover lock release button, open the upper cover.
– Remove the old cartridge from the printer using the handle built into the cartridge.
– Install the new toner cartridge into the printer by sliding the pins on each side of the cartridge along the grooves of the cartridge guide.
– Close the upper cover.
Print Quality Issues
There is a pull tape seal on the side of the cartridge that must be removed prior to installation. It is important that this seal is completely removed. If the customer is saying the cartridge is printing blank pages or after 2-3 pages it is now printing blank then the pull tape seal has not been removed or has broken off inside the cartridge while being removed.
Holding the cartridge by its ends, gently rock the cartridge back and forth a few times to redistribute the toner inside the cartridge.
The OPC drum is located on the bottom of the cartridge covered by a spring loaded plastic shutter. Lift the shutter up to view the drum. Do NOT touch the OPC drum. You can use a clean, dry, lint-free cloth to gently clean the drum. Do NOT use moisture of any kind.
If there are streaks in the print on the page then the window glass of the print head unit may be dirty. To clean the window glass do the following;
– Open the upper cover.
– Remove the toner cartridge.
– Clean the window glass of the print head unit using a dry, soft, lint-free cloth.
– Re-insert the toner cartridge and close the upper cover.
