THIS IS A TONER THAT HAS THE OPC DRUM BUILT INTO THE CARTRIDGE ITSELF AND IS REPLACED AS ONE WHOLE UNIT. THERE IS NO SEPARATE DRUM UNIT.
Not Recognizing
Verify you have the correct cartridge for your specific model printer.
There is no smart chip on this cartridge. This is an older toner cartridge that’s used in older Laserjet printers. HP recommends replacing the toner when the prints are light or poor and shaking doesn’t resolve the issue.
The toner installs under the top front cover of the printer. Verify the cartridge is installed correctly and fully inserted into the printer.

Print Quality Issues
There is a pull tape seal on the side of the cartridge that must be removed prior to installation. It is important that this pull tape seal is fully removed.
The OPC drum is located on the bottom of the cartridge protected by a spring loaded plastic shutter. Lift the shutter to view the OPC drum. Do NOT touch the OPC drum. Visually inspect the drum for damage or debris. A clean, soft, dry, lint-free cloth can be used to gently wipe the OPC drum. Do NOT use moisture of any kind.
Holding the cartridge by its ends, gently roll the cartridge left to right a few times to evenly distribute the toner powder inside the cartridge.
