THIS IS A THERMAL FAX FILM ROLL. IT USES A CARBON FILM SHEET AND HEAT TO TRANSFER THE TEXT TO THE PAPER. AS PRINTING OCCURS THE USED FILM SHEET WILL ROLL TO ONE SIDE OF THE CARTRIDGE.
THIS IS SOLD AS A TWO PACK. THIS DOES NOT INCLUDE THE FILM CARTRIDGE, THESE ARE REFILL ROLLS FOR AN EXISTING FILM CARTRIDGE.
Not Recognizing
This is a refill for the existing film cartridge. There is no chip used in the film cartridge, there is a “leader” built into the film that will trip a sensor so the machine knows a new roll has been installed. If they are getting a “Check Film” error then the film was not installed correctly into the film cartridge. Follow the instructions below.
To remove and replace the film roll in the film cartridge in a Panasonic KX-F1100 fax machine do the following;
– Open the top cover.
– Press the green button on the right marked “PUSH” and lift up the head unit.
– Take out the film cartridge.
– Turn over the cartridge so that the “PULL TAB” mark is facing up.
– Unlock the four tabs of the cartridge, open the covers of the cartridge and take out the used film.
– Pull out the four gears from the used film cores.
– Insert the four gears into the new film cores so that the guide tab of each gear fits into the slot of the film core.
– Make sure that the films cores are being installed in the correct direction.
– Roll the blue leader of the film by winding the gears of the core until the leaders is not longer visible.
– Close the covers of the cartridge by locking the four tabs.
– Turn over the cartridge and place the “BACK” side of the cartridge into the unit, by inserting the pins on the sides of the green gears into the green holders. Then lower the front of the cartridge into place.
– Press the head unit down firmly until it clicks into place. Close the top cover securely by pushing down on both sides.
– If the blue leader of the film is not wound completely, the unit will automaticall advance it and the following message will be displayed.
– If the following message is displayed, the film is not inserted in the cartridge correctly. Re-do the above steps.
Print Quality Issues
There is a clear rubber band and blue plastic protective sheet cover to remove prior to installation.
