THESE TONER CARTRIDGES DO NOT HAVE THE OPC DRUM INTEGRATED.  THE DRUM UNIT IS A SEPARATE, REPLACEABLE, MAINTENANCE ITEM.

There are four colors in this series of cartridge; Black, Yellow, Cyan, and Magenta.

These are compatible cartridges so their appearance may differ greatly from the OEM.  They will still work and their appearance differences will have no effect on their performance.

Not Recognizing

Verify they have the correct cartridges for their specific model printer.

There’s no smart chip on these cartridge.  Make sure the cartridge is installed properly.  The casing to the cartridge is clear so you can also confirm if there’s toner powder present inside.

To remove and install these toner cartridges into a Konica Minolta Color Coper 8020 and 8031 do the following;

–          Open the front door, and then turn counterclockwise the lever for the toner cartridge that you wish to replace.  Make note the different locations of the colors.

–          Pull out the empty toner cartridge.

–          Be sure that you have the correct color cartridge for the color you are replacing.  Position the cartridge as shown below, and then insert it into its compartment.

–          Turn the lever clockwise.  Make sure that the lever is fully turned, otherwise the front door cannot be closed.

–          Clean the charger wire after replacing the toner cartridge.  Slowly pull out the charger-cleaning tool located below the new toner cartridge until it stops.  Then, slowly push in the charger-cleaning tool completely.  Repeat 3 times.

–          Be sure to push in the charger-cleaning tool completely.  Then, carefully close the front door.

Print Quality Issues

Make sure the cleaning step outlined above was completed for each color toner cartridge that was replaced.

Try to determine if the print quality issue is occurring with one color in particular or if the defect is occurring across all the colors.

There is a piece of tape and a pink foam piece covering the toner shutter on the bottom of the cartridge which must be removed prior to installation.

Shake the toner cartridge.  The toner powder can become compacted inside.

Streaking, lines, ghost imaging, and repeating image defects are drum related issues.  The drum unit is a separate item.

Not Fitting

Make sure they have the correct cartridges for their specific printer model.  Verify that the correct color is being installed into the correct color slot.  Check inside the printer for any obstructions.  Check the cartridge itself for physical damage.  Make sure the tape and pink foam piece was removed from the bottom of the cartridge that covers the toner shutter.
