Okidata 43324474, 43324475, 43324476, and 43324477 (Type C8)

THESE TONER CARTRIDGES DO NOT HAVE THE OPC DRUM INTEGRATED.  THE DRUM UNIT IS A SEPARATE, REPLACEABLE, MAINTENANCE ITEM FOR EACH COLOR.

There are 4 colors in this series; Black, Cyan, Magenta, and Yellow.

These are compatible cartridges so their appearance may differ greatly from the OEM.  They will still work and their appearance differences will have no effect on their performance.

Not Recognizing

Verify you have the correct cartridges for your specific model printer.

This cartridge uses a RF or radio frequency sensor chip that’s located in the small compartment in the gear side of the cartridge opposite the colored cap. This chip does not make physical contact with the printer but rather sits in a specific position to be picked up by the printer’s sensor. Make sure that the cartridge is properly inserted and locks into place to ensure the chip is in the correct position. If the problem persists it is most likely an issue with the chip on the cartridge.

Verify that the correct color cartridge is being installed into the correct color slot.

It is important to make sure the cartridge is installed correctly and fully locked into place.  To remove and install the toner cartridges into an Okidata CX2032 MFP series printer do the following;

–          Gently raise the scanner.

–          Press the cover release (a) and open the MFP’s top cover (b) fully.

–          Pull the colored toner release lever (1) on the cartridge to be replaced fully towards the front of the MFP.

–          Lift the right-hand end of the cartridge and then draw the cartridge to the right to release the left-hand and withdraw the toner cartridge out of the printer.

NOTE:  Make sure that you do not remove the drum unit along with the cartridge.  If the toner looks like the picture below this means that the drum unit is still attached to the cartridge.

You will need to remove the drum unit from the old toner cartridge and reinstall the drum into the printer.

–          Make sure you have the correct color cartridge for the color slot.  Insert the left end of the cartridge into the top of the drum unit first, pushing it against the spring on the drum unit, then lower the right end of the cartridge down onto the drum unit.  If the customer is saying the cartridge is too small then they removed the drum unit with their old cartridge.  Review the two previous steps.

–          Pressing gently down on the cartridge to ensure that it is firmly seated, push the colored lever (1) towards the rear of the MFP.  This will lock the cartridge into place and release the toner into the drum unit.

–          With the top covers still open on the printers, gently wipe the LED head surface under the scanner cover with a soft, dry, lint-free, clean, cloth.

–          Close the top cover and press down firmly at both sides so that the cover latches closed.

Print Quality Issues

There’s a piece of protective tape on the cartridge which must be removed prior to installation.  If this is not fully removed the toner powder will not be able to exit the cartridge.

Gently shake the toner cartridge from side to side to loosen and distribute the toner powder evenly inside the cartridge.

Verify that the cartridge is fully locked inside the printer.  When the cartridge is locked this opens the toner shutters on the cartridge which releases the toner powder into the drum unit.  If the cartridge is not fully locked then the toner powder will not release properly from the cartridge.

Streaking, lines, ghost imaging, and repeating image defects are drum related issues.  There is an individual drum unit for each color and all the drum units are separate, replaceable, maintenance items.  After a certain period of usage the drum units will need to be replaced.

Not Fitting

Make sure that you are installing the toner cartridge into the drum unit.  Verify that the drum unit has not been removed from the printer.  If the cartridge appears too small then you may not be installing it into the drum unit.

Make sure the correct color cartridge is being installed into the correct color slot in the drum unit.
