THIS TONER CARTRIDGE DOES NOT HAVE INTEGRATED DRUM UNIT. THE DRUM IS A SEPARATE UNIT FROM THE TONER CARTRIDGE.
This toner cartridge comes with a new waste toner box that must be replaced at the same time as the toner cartridge.
This is a compatible cartridge so there will be some differences between this cartridge and the OEM. These differences will not affect the function.
Not Recognizing
There is no smart chip on this toner cartridge. There is a toner life counter that must be MANUALLY reset by the user when a new toner is installed. If the counter was not reset then the cartridge will continue to read as low or need replacing.
To remove and install this toner cartridge into a Kyocera Mita FS-1920 printer do the following;
– Open the printer top cover all the way.
– Pull the lock lever (green colored) to the right and gently lift the old toner cartridge.
– Install the new toner cartridge into the printer.
– Push firmly on the top of the toner cartridge. When the toner cartridge fits into place, it will lock with a clicking sound.
– Close the top cover.
The toner life counter MUST be MANUALLY reset once the new toner cartridge is installed. To reset the counter do the following;
– Press the MENU key.
– Press the ▲ or ▼ key until LIFE COUNTERS > appears
– Press the ► key.
– Press the ▲ or ▼ key until >NEW TONER INSTALLED appears.
– Press the ENTER key. A questions mark (?) appears.
– Press the ENTER key. The toner counter is reset. The message display returns to READY.
NOTE: The waste toner bottle will need to be replaced at the same time as the toner cartridge. We provide a new waste toner bottle with our compatible toner cartridge. To replace the waste toner bottle do the following;
– Open the left cover on the left side of the printer.
– While holding the waste toner box, press the lock lever and then gently remove the waste toner box.
– Open the cap of the new waste toner box.
– Insert the new waste toner box. The box will be locked when it fits into place.
– Ensure that it is correctly inserted and close the left cover.
IMPORTANT: Kyocera Mita requires some cleaning steps to be performed any time a new toner cartridge and waste toner bottle have been installed. Failure to complete these cleaning steps may result in printer damage or print quality issues. To perform the cleaning do the following;
– Open the left cover on the left side of the printer.
– Pull the cleaning knob (green colored) slowly in and out a few times. This cleans the charger wire inside the printer.
– Take the grid cleaner provided with our compatible cartridge from its protective foil wrapping, and remove the cap.
– Attach the grid cleaner to the printer with the pad at the top, as shown in the figure.
– Slowly pull out and then push back in the charger unit at least 5 times. It is easier to pull out the charger unit for the first time if it is raised slightly. This cleans the grid part underneath the charger unit.
– Remove the grid cleaner from the printer dispose of it. The grid cleaner is not re-usable.
– After cleaning the charger wire and grid, push the charger unit all the way in and close the left cover.
– While pull the paper transfer unit release lever (green colored), pull out the paper transfer unit.
– Wipe away the paper dust on the registration roller and the paper ramp using the wiper cloth provided with our compatible cartridge. Be careful not to touch the transfer roller (the black roller) during cleaning as this may negatively affect print quality.
Print Quality Issues
Make sure the above cleaning steps were completed when the new toner cartridge was installed.
There’s an orange paper cover on the toner cartridge which must be replace prior to installation.
Gently shake and roll the toner cartridge a few times to loosen and redistribute the toner powder inside the cartridge.
Streaking, lines, ghost images, and repeating image defects are drum related issues. The drum unit is separate from the toner cartridge.
Not Fitting
Verify you have the correct cartridge for your specific printer model. Check to make sure the cartridge is being installed in the correct orientation. Check the inside of the printer for any obstructions that may be causing the cartridge not to fit properly. Check the cartridge itself for physical damage.
