THIS IS A TONER THAT HAS THE OPC DRUM BUILT INTO THE CARTRIDGE ITSELF AND IS REPLACED AS ONE WHOLE UNIT. THERE IS NO SEPARATE DRUM UNIT.
Not Recognizing
Verify you have the correct cartridge for your specific model printer.
There is a smart chip located on the back of the cartridge. Check the chip for damage or debris. A clean, dry, lint-free cloth can be used to gently wipe the gold contacts.
Check to make sure the cartridge is installed correctly and is fully inserted into the printer. It is important to install the correct color into the correct color slot. The color order from top to bottom is Black, Cyan, Magenta, and Yellow.
Make sure that the front cover is fully closed after installing the new cartridge as the printer will give an error message if the front cover is not fully closed.
Print Quality Issues
There’s a piece of paper held on by tape that will need to be removed prior to installation.
Holding both handles on the toner cartridge, thoroughly rock it from side to side to evenly distribute the toner.
Check the outputted pages to see where the image defect is occurring. Try to see if there is a pattern with the defect and a particular color. For example, lines only appears in areas cyan is being used then the cyan cartridge should be replaced. However, if the defect is occurring across all colors then the issue may be with the transfer unit in the printer itself.
The OPC drum is located on the front of the cartridge that faces you while installing the cartridge into the printer. Visually check the OPC drum for damage or debris. Do NOT touch the drum. A soft, clean, dry, lint-free cloth can be used to gently clean the OPC drum. Do NOT use moisture of any kind.
Leaking
This toner does not have any pull seal tabs and as a result a little toner dust on the cartridge is normal. The protective paper that covers the toner roller has a piece of foam that covers the roller to help collect any loose toner dust. However, vibrations during shipping may cause the roller to rotate a little and allow a little toner powder to leak. This is normal. You can clean excess toner dust off the cartridge by gently wiping the cartridge with a clean, dry, lint-free cloth or gently blowing on it. Be careful with compressed air as this may blow too powerfully and blow toner powder out of the cartridge. Do NOT use moisture of any kind.
