This toner cartridge does not have the OPC drums built into it.  The drum unit is a separate, replaceable unit.  This cartridge is a pretty basic cartridge.  For installation instructions see the web address below:

Not Recognizing

Verify you have the correct cartridge for your specific model printer.

This cartridge uses a RF or radio frequency sensor chip. This chip does not make physical contact with the printer but rather sits in a specific position to be picked up by the printer’s sensor. Make sure that the cartridge is properly inserted and locks into place to ensure the chip is in the correct position. If the problem persists it is most likely an issue with the chip on the cartridge.

The chip is new on the cartridge and should read as full when installed. If not, remove the cartridge from the printer. Turn off then unplug the printer for 10-15 seconds. Plug the printer back in and turn it on. Re-install the cartridge.

Print Quality Issues

There is a pull tape seal that must be removed.  Please ensure that this has been fully removed from the cartridge.

Almost all streaking, ghost imaging, lines, and repeating mark issues will be related to the drum unit which is separate from the toner cartridge.  If you are getting specks or dots on their page you can remove the drum unit and try gently cleaning it out with compressed air.  You should do this outside or over a trash can as toner dust will come out of the drum when using compressed air.  The drum is removed from the top of the machine and is a separate, replaceable, maintenance item.

For light prints you can try gently rocking the toner cartridge a few times to ensure that the toner powder is even distributed within the cartridge.
