Xerox 016-2005-00, 016-2006-00, 016-2007-00, and 016-2008-00
THESE TONER CARTRIDGES DO NOT HAVE THE OPC DRUM INTEGRATED INTO THE CARTRIDGE ITSELF. THERE IS A SEPARATE, REPLACEABLE, DRUM UNIT.
There are 4 colors in this series; Black, Cyan, Magenta, and Yellow.
These are compatible cartridges so there will be some differences from the OEM. These differences will not affect the function.
Not Recognizing
Verify you have the correct cartridge for your specific printer model.
This cartridge uses a RF or radio frequency sensor chip. This chip does not make physical contact with the printer but rather sits in a specific position to be picked up by the printer’s sensor. Make sure that the cartridge is properly inserted and locks into place to ensure the chip is in the correct position. If the problem persists it is most likely an issue with the chip on the cartridge.
Verify that the correct color is being installed into the correct slot. Make sure the cartridge is fully inserted and locked into place.
To remove and install the toner cartridges into the Xerox Phaser 6200 Series printers do the following;
– Pull on the cover latch and open the front cover.
– Twist the two lock levers into the unlock position and remove the cartridge from the printer. Be sure to note the location of the different color cartridges and the location of the cartridge being removed.
– Make sure to shake the new toner cartridge before installing to loosen the toner powder inside.
– Insert the new toner cartridge making sure you are inserting the correct color into the correct color slot. Twist the lock levers until they click locked.
– Pull the pull tape seal and remove it from the cartridge. This releases the toner powder from the cartridge.
– Close the top printer cover.
Print Quality Issues
There is a tape seal that must be removed the toner cartridge during installation. Ensure that this tape was fully removed from the cartridge.
Try gently tapping the toner cartridge onto a hard surface to loosen the toner powder inside. Be careful to not do this over carpeting or clothing as some toner powder may leak. Do it on a hard surface that is covered with a paper towel or newspaper.
Almost all ghost imaging, streaking, lines, or repetitive image defects will be an issue with the drum unit. There is one large drum unit that will need to be replaced over time, usually after 4-6 toner cartridge changes.
Not Fitting
Verify you have the correct cartridges for your specific printer. If the cartridge appears too small then you may have removed the drum unit with the old toner cartridge. Double check the old toner cartridge and make sure the drum unit is not still attached.
