X560H2KG, X560H2CG, X560H2MG, and X560H2YG

THIS IS A TONER THAT HAS THE OPC DRUM BUILT INTO THE CARTRIDGE ITSELF AND IS REPLACED AS ONE WHOLE UNIT.  THERE IS NO SEPARATE DRUM UNIT.

There are four different colors in this cartridge series; Black, Cyan, Magenta, and Yellow.

These are compatible cartridges so there will be differences from the OEMs.  These differences will not affect the function.

Not Recognizing

Verify you have the correct cartridge for your specific model printer.

There is a smart chip located on the front of the toner cartridge.  Check to make sure the gold contacts are not damaged or dirty.  You can use a Q-Tip or lint-free cloth to gently dry wipe the connections.

Make sure the cartridge is installed fully and correctly.  If the cartridge is not properly seated then the chip will not make proper contact with the printer sensor.  Verify you have the correct color toner cartridge installed into the correct color slot.

To install these toner cartridges into a Lexmark X560n printer do the following;

–          Push the cover release button on the side of the printer and open the front cover.

–          Verify you are inserting the correct color into the correct slot.  The printer and the cartridges themselves will be labeled with their color.

–          Push the cartridge into the slot until it cannot go any further.  Keep the orange protective cover on the cartridge while installing to prevent you touching the OPC drum.

–          Once fully installed, remove the plastic orange protective clip and the white piece of paper surrounding the OPC drum.

–          Close the front printer cover.

Print Quality Issues

There is an orange plastic protective cover that will need to be removed.  There is also a piece of paper with foam that will need to be pulled out from the OPC drum.  This acts as a sealing tape and releases the toner powder.

Holding the cartridge by its ends, gently roll the cartridge to redistribute the toner powder inside.

The OPC drum is located on the back of the cartridge.  Each cartridge has the OPC drum built into the cartridge itself.  Try to determine which color is giving the issue.  Such as, do the streaks only occurs where a particular color is on the page?  Once you narrow down the color check the OPC drum of that color for damage or debris.  A dry, clean, soft, lint-free cloth can be used to gently clean the OPC drum.

Not Fitting

Verify you have the correct cartridges for your specific printer model.  Make sure the correct color is going into the correct color slot.  Make sure the orange protective clip and white paper have been removed from the cartridge.  Check inside the printer for obstructions.  Check the cartridge itself for physical damage.
