THIS IS AN INK CARTRIDGE WITH THE PRINT HEAD INTEGRATED.
Not Recognizing
Verify you have the correct cartridge for your specific model printer.
Using a coffee filter or a lint-free cloth gently wipe the gold/copper connection points found on the side of the cartridge. Sometimes if dried ink, finger print oil, or some of the tape residue stays on the contacts it can cause the cartridge not to recognize.
Make sure the cartridge is installed properly and is fully inserted into the machine.
To remove and install this cartridge into the Hasler WJ20 machine do the following;
– Press MENU and use the ◄ or ► keys to select Cartridge. Press OK to confirm.
– Use the ◄ or ► keys to select Remove
– Press OK to confirm and the following message will display
– Open the machine top cover.
– Open the blue latch and carefully remove the ink cartridge.
– Place the new cartridge into its holder and press gently at the bottom of the cartridge with your thumb until it is fully inserted. Close the blue latch and press gently until it locks the cartridge in place.
– Close the top cover and press OK. The following message will appear.
– After a short period of time, you will be prompted to produce a test print. Insert a blank envelope to make a test print.
– Remove the test print. Notice the numbered verticle lines on the print.
– The screen will now display the following message.
– Enter the number that corresponds to the straightest vertical line (for example pictured before it would be line 5). Press OK to return to the ready mode.
Not Fitting
There is an orange protective clip on the outside of the cartridge which must be removed. If the cartridge looks too big the protective clip probably has not been removed. The clip will just snap off the cartridge.
Verify you have the correct cartridge for your specific printer model. Check inside the printer for any debris which may be obstructing the cartridge from going in properly. Check the cartridge for physical damage.
Print Quality Issues
The print head is located on the bottom of the cartridge. Do NOT touch the print head with your fingers. Make sure nothing is stuck to the print head which may be stopping the ink from coming out properly.
Take a warm damp paper towel or coffee filter and blot the cartridge with the print head facing down onto the paper towel to remove the dried ink on the print head. Then, taking a DRY paper towel or coffee filter, hold the cartridge down against the paper towel for 2-3 minutes. A dry paper towel will wick the ink out. Do not wipe the print head as this may cause damage.
