These are remanufactured cartridges.

There are four colors in this series of color laser toner cartridges; Black, Cyan, Magenta, and Yellow.

Not Recognizing

Verify you have the correct cartridge for your specific model printer.

There is a smart chip located on the side of the toner cartridge.  Check to make sure the gold contacts are not damaged or dirty.  You can use a Q-Tip or lint-free cloth to gently dry wipe the connections.

Make sure the cartridge is installed fully and correctly.  If the cartridge is not properly seated then the chip will not make proper contact with the printer sensor.

To remove and install these toner cartridges into an HP CP5220 Series printer do the following;

–          Open the front door.  Make sure that the door is completely open.

–          Grasp the handle of the print cartridge being removed and pull it out.  There are 4 colors in this printer; black, cyan, magenta, and yellow.  Make note of the location of the cartridge being removed.

–          Make sure that the correct color cartridge is being installed into the correct color slot.  Align the cartridge with its correct color slot and insert the cartridge until it clicks into place.

–          Close the front door.

Poor Print Quality

There’s an orange plastic protective clip which must be removed from the front of the cartridge prior to installation.

Grasp both sides of the print cartridge and distribute the toner by gently rocking the print cartridge.

The OPC drum is located on the front of the cartridge.  Check the OPC drum for damage or debris.  Do NOT touch the OPC drum.  A soft, clean, dry, lint-free cloth can be used to gently clean the OPC drum as needed.  Do NOT use moisture of any kind.

Leaking

This toner does not have any pull seal tabs and as a result a little toner dust on the cartridge is normal.  The protective plastic cover that covers the OPC drum helps collect any loose toner dust.  However, vibrations during shipping may cause the roller to rotate a little and allow a little toner powder to leak.  This is normal.  You can clean excess toner dust off the cartridge by gently wiping the cartridge with a clean, dry, lint-free cloth or gently blowing on it.  Be careful with compressed air as this may blow too powerfully and blow toner powder out of the cartridge.  Do NOT use moisture of any kind.

Not Fitting

Verify you have the correct cartridge for your specific printer model.  Verify the correct color is being installed into the correct color slot.  Make sure the cartridge is being installed in the correct orientation.  Check inside the printer for any obstructions which may be causing the cartridge not to install correctly.  Check the cartridge itself for physical damage.
