Also Xerox 6500 Series Printers.
THESE TONER CARTRIDGES DO NOT HAVE THE OPC DRUMS BUILT INTO THEM. THE DRUM UNIT IS A SEPARATE, REPLACEABLE UNIT. THESE ARE VERY BASIC TONERS THAT SLIDE INTO THE SIDE OF THE PRINTER.
These are compatible toner cartridges so there will be some differences between these and the OEM. These differences will not affect the function.
These cartridges are used in a variety of Dell and Xerox printers. The physical shape of the cartridge stays the same but the smart chip on the cartridge is different depending on the printer it is for.
Not Recognizing
Verify you have the correct cartridge for your specific printer.
These cartridges have a smart chip located on the end of the cartridge. Check to make sure the gold contacts are clean and undamaged. You can use a dry Q-tip to reach the gold contacts and gently clean them off.
Make sure the cartridge is fully inserted and that the slide-lock on the printer is engaged.
To remove and install these toner cartridges in a Dell 2150 and Dell 2155 printer do the following;
NOTE: The process is the same on other Dell as well as Xerox printers that use these style cartridges.
– Open the toner access cover.
– Push the latch backwards to pop open the toner cartridge that you want to replace.
– Pull the cartridge holder until it clicks, and then pull out the toner cartridge.
– Insert the new toner cartridge into the appropriate holder.
– Verify that the correct color cartridge is being installed into the correct color holder. Slide the toner latch to lock the toner into place.
– Close the toner access cover.

Print Quality Issues
Try gently rocking the toner left to right holding onto the ends. Be careful as this is an unsealed cartridge toner powder may leak. Do this over a trash can.
Streaking, lines, ghost images, and repeating image defects are drum related issues. The drum is a separate, replaceable maintenance item and will need to be replaced after a certain period of usage.
Be sure that the cartridge is fully inserted and locked into the printer. When locking the cartridge latch this opens a small shutter on the cartridge which releases the toner powder. If the latch is not locked properly then this may cause the shutter not to fully open on the cartridge and cause the toner powder not to release from the cartridge properly.
Not Fitting
Verify you have the correct cartridge for your specific printer model. Make sure you are installing the cartridge the correct direction. The side with the label should be facing up.
The slide lock must be fully clicked into place or the door may not close properly. To make sure the lock is clicking properly try pushing on the cartridge while sliding the slide lock.
