THIS TONER CARTRIDGE DOES NOT HAVE THE OPC DRUM INTEGRATED. THE DRUM UNIT IS A SEPARATE, REPLACEABLE, MAINTENANCE ITEM.
This cartridge also comes with a waste toner bottle which will need to be replaced at the same time as the toner cartridge.
Not Recognizing
Verify you have the correct cartridge for your specific model printer.
This cartridge uses a RF or radio frequency sensor chip that’s located on the bottom of the cartridge. This chip does not make physical contact with the printer but rather sits in a specific position to be picked up by the printer’s sensor. Make sure that the cartridge is properly inserted and locks into place to ensure the chip is in the correct position. If the problem persists it is most likely an issue with the chip on the cartridge.
To remove and install the toner cartridge into a Kyocera-Mita FS-4000 printer do the following;
– Open the top cover.
– Push the lock lever to the right and pull out the toner cartridge.
– Set the new toner cartridge in the printer and push down on the top of the toner cartridge to install it firmly in place. Be sure it is fully in place.
– Close the top cover.
The waste toner box will need to be replaced at the same time as the toner cartridge. To replace the waste toner box in a Kyocera-Mita FS-4000 printer do the following;
– Open the left cover. While holding the waste toner box, press the lock lever and then gently remove the waste toner box.
– Open the cap of the new waste toner box.
– Insert the new waste toner box. When the box is set correctly, it will snap into place.
– Make sure that the waste toner box is correctly inserted and close the left cover.
Kyocera-Mita requires that the printer be cleaned after the toner cartridge and waste toner box are replaced. Failure to do so may lead to print quality issues later. To clean the printer do the following;
– Open the top cover and MP tray.
– Lift the developer unit together with the toner container out of the printer.
– Use a soft line free cloth to clean dust and dirt away from the registration roller (metal).
– Insert the developer unit together with the toner cartridge, back into the printer.
– Close the top cover and MP tray.
Print Quality Issues
There is an orange piece of paper which must be removed prior to installation.
Shake the toner cartridge at least 10 times in order to distribute the toner evenly inside the cartridge.
Streaking, lines, ghost images, and repeating image defects are drum related issues. The drum unit is separate from the toner cartridge.
Not Fitting
Verify you have the correct cartridge for your specific printer model. Check to make sure the cartridge is being installed in the correct orientation. Check the inside of the printer for any obstructions that may be causing the cartridge not to fit properly. Check the cartridge itself for physical damage.
