THESE TONER CARTRIDGES DO NOT HAVE AN INTEGRATED DRUM UNIT. THE DRUM IS A SEPARATE UNIT FROM THE TONER CARTRIDGES.
These are compatible cartridges so there will be differences from the OEM cartridges. These differences will not affect the function of the cartridges.
Not Recognizing
Verify you have the correct cartridges for your specific printer model.
These cartridges do not use a smart chip. Instead, in the cap on one end of the cartridge is a metal contact that is positioned in a specific position so that when the cartridge is installed in the printer it will make metal to metal contact with a switch in the printer and complete a circuit. This resets the page count. Then once the cartridge is twisted into the locked position the metal contact moves and breaks the circuit. Be sure that the cartridge is fully inserted and that it is properly locked into place. Make sure the right color is being installed into the correct slot.
To install the toner cartridges into a Xerox Phaser 7750 do the following;
– Open the side cover to the printer.
– Insert the new toner cartridges into the slots of the printer. Be sure to install the correct color cartridge into the correct color slot.
– Turn the lock lever to the right as far as it will go. Verify that the cartridge is fully locked into position.
– Close the side printer cover.
Print Quality Issues
There is a piece of tape that holds the toner shutter on the cartridge close. Make sure to remove this piece of tape before installing the toner cartridge into the printer.
Make sure the cartridge is fully locked. When the cartridge is locked this opens the toner shutter that allows the toner to drop down into the drum unit. The lock lever should be as far to the right as it can go.
Try rocking the cartridge gently 4 times to redistribute the toner powder inside the cartridge.
Ghosting, lines, streaking, and repeating image defects will be an issue with the drum unit. There is a separate drum unit for each color and the drums are replaceable, maintenance items. The drums will need to be replaced after a certain period of usage.
