The toner cartridge does NOT contain the OPC drum. The toner cartridge and drum unit are two separate units that are sold individually. The drum unit generally needs replacing after 4-6 toner cartridge changes. When replacing the toner cartridge the old drum unit MUST be separated from the old toner cartridge and re-used with the new toner cartridge.
Not Recognizing
Verify you have the correct cartridge for your specific printer model.
There is a smart chip located on the bottom of the toner cartridge. Check the smart chip for damage or debris. A clean, soft, lint-free cloth can be used to gently clean the gold contacts.
Make sure the cartridge is installed properly. The toner cartridge needs to be installed into the existing drum unit. Check to make sure the toner is completely locked down into the drum unit and that the toner/drum unit are firmly installed within the printer.
To remove and install the toner cartridge into a Dell 2350DN printer do the following;

– Pull the toner cartridge assembly out of the printer by pulling on the toner cartridge handle. Do NOT press the button on the toner cartridge assembly.
– NOTE: You must separate the toner cartridge from the drum unit. Press the button on the base of the toner cartridge assembly, and then pull the toner cartridge up and out using the handle.

.

The cartridge clicks into place when correctly installed. See the above YouTube video for more reference.

Not Fitting
Verify you have the correct cartridge for your specific printer model.
The toner cartridge and drum unit are two separate pieces that install into each other. When replacing the toner cartridge you MUST remove the old drum unit from the old toner cartridge and re-use it with the new toner cartridge. Install the new toner cartridge into the old drum unit before installing them into the printer. If the the toner cartridge appears too small then you may be attempting to install the toner cartridge on its own without the drum unit. Make sure you install the toner into the drum first then install the toner/drum assembly into the printer.
Print Quality Issues
There’s a piece of white paper held on by tape covering the front of the toner cartridge which must be removed prior to installation.
Rotate the cartridge in all directions to re-distribute the toner.
On the toner cartridge, check the rubber roller for damage or debris. Do NOT touch the rubber roller or use moisture of any kind around the toner cartridge.
Almost all ghosting, streaking, and line issues will be an issue with the drum unit. The drum unit is a separate, replaceable, maintenance item that will need to be changed after a period of usage. Usually after 4-6 toner cartridge changes.
Leaking
It is normal for minor toner leakage to occur within the packaging. The cartridge is unsealed and vibrations during shipping may cause the roller to move on the toner releasing a small amount of toner powder. If the toner leakage is excessive and a large amount of toner is coming out of the cartridge then it should be reshipped.
