THESE CARTRIDGES DO NOT HAVE THE OPC DRUM UNIT INTEGRATED.  THERE IS A SEPARATE OPC DRUM UNIT AS WELL AS A SEPARATE FUSING UNIT THAT INSTALL INTO THE PRINTER.

Not Recognizing

Verify you have the correct cartridge for your specific model printer.

There is no smart chip on the cartridges.  Instead, when installed there is a gear on the cartridge called the “flag gear” that trips an actuator inside the printer and resets the page count.  Once the printer counts a certain amount of pages, it will give the message to replace the cartridge.

Make sure the cartridges are properly installed and fully inserted.  Also double check they are installing the correct color into the correct slot

Print Quality Issues

There is a piece of protective paper held on by tape that must be removed prior to installation.

Holding the cartridge by its ends, gently rock it left to right a few times to redistribute the toner powder.

The toner cartridges do not have the OPC drum built in.  The OPC drum and the fuser unit are two separate, replaceable, maintenance items.  The OPC drum will usually need to be replaced after 4-6 toner changes while the fuser unit may last 6-8 toner changes.  We do not currently carry the OPC drum unit or the fuser unit.

The toner cartridges themselves have rubber rollers on them that is used to dispense the toner powder.  You can check the rubber rollers for cracks or damage.  Do NOT touch the rubber roller and do NOT clean it off.  Toner powder on the rubber is normal and must NOT be wiped off.

Almost all issues with ghosting, lines, streaking, or repetitive print defects will be an issue with the separate OPC drum unit.

Leaking

This toner does not have any pull seal tabs and as a result a little toner dust on the cartridge is normal.  Vibrations during shipping may cause the roller to rotate a little and allow a little toner powder to leak.  This is normal.  You can clean excess toner dust off the cartridge by gently wiping the cartridge with a clean, dry, lint-free cloth or gently blowing on it.  Be careful with compressed air as this may blow too powerfully and blow toner powder out of the cartridge.  Do NOT wipe or blow air on the rubber roller found on the front of the cartridge.
