THIS TONER CARTRIDGE DOES NOT HAVE THE OPC DRUM INTEGRATED. THE DRUM UNIT IS A SEPARATE, REPLACEABLE, MAINTENANCE ITEM.
NOTE: These are compatible cartridges so their appearance will differ greatly from the OEMs. These cartridges are larger than the OEMs however they will fit and function as normal. With the OEM cartridges there is a gap between the black cartridge and the yellow cartridge, with our compatibles this gap will be gone.
Not Recognizing
Verify you have the correct cartridge for your specific model printer.
This cartridge uses a RF or radio frequency sensor chip that’s located on the bottom of the cartridge. This chip does not make physical contact with the printer but rather sits in a specific position to be picked up by the printer’s sensor. Make sure that the cartridge is properly inserted and locks into place to ensure the chip is in the correct position. If the problem persists it is most likely an issue with the chip on the cartridge.
The toner cartridge comes with a new waste toner bottle to replace the old one. To install the waste toner bottle you will need to open the panel on the left side of the printer, open the cap on the new waste toner bottle, remove the old waste toner bottle from the printer, and insert the new waste toner bottle until it snaps into place.
Make sure the correct color cartridge is inside the correct color slot. The color order from the top to the bottom is Magenta, Cyan, Yellow, and Black.
Print Quality Issues
You will also want to hold the cartridge by its ends and gently shake it a few times to redistribute the toner powder. Don’t press too firmly on the center of the toner cartridge or touch the toner feed slot.
Ghosting, lines, streaking, and repeating image defects are usually issues with the drum unit which is separate from the cartridge.
Check the outputted pages to see if the defect is occurring with just one particular color or if it is happening across the board. Such as lines are only appearing in areas which use cyan or if the lines occur through all the colors. If it’s just one color, troubleshoot that cartridge.
