THIS IS A TONER THAT HAS THE OPC DRUM BUILT INTO THE CARTRIDGE ITSELF AND IS REPLACED AS ONE WHOLE UNIT.  THERE IS NO SEPARATE DRUM UNIT.

Not Recognizing

Verify you have the correct cartridge for your specific printer model.

There is a smart chip located on the front of the cartridge.  Check the chip for damage or dirt.  A clean, dry, lint-free cloth can be used to gently clean the two gold contacts.

Check to make sure the cartridge is installed correctly and is fully inserted into the printer.  There is an arrow on the cartridge to show the direction it should be installed.

Print Quality Issues

There is a pull tape seal on the side of the cartridge that must be removed prior to installation.  It is important that this pull tape seal is fully removed from the cartridge.  If the cartridge is printing blank pages then the pull tape seal probably has not been removed or tore off inside the cartridge while being removed.

Grasp both sides of the print cartridge and distribute the toner by gently rocking the print cartridge.

The OPC drum is located on the bottom of the cartridge, protecting by a spring loaded plastic shutter.  Lift the plastic shutter to view the OPC drum.  Do NOT touch the drum.  Visually inspect the OPC drum for damage or debris.  A soft, clean, dry, lint-free cloth can be used to gently wipe the drum.  Do NOT use moisture of any kind.
