THIS IS A TONER THAT HAS THE OPC DRUM BUILT INTO THE CARTRIDGE ITSELF AND IS REPLACED AS ONE WHOLE UNIT.  THERE IS NO SEPARATE DRUM UNIT.

Not Recognizing

Verify you have the correct cartridge for your specific printer.

Make sure the cartridge is correctly and fully installed.

The cartridge comes with a new smart chip.  On the right side of the cartridge there will be three small silver contact nubs that make contact with the printer’s sensor when installed.  Check to make sure they are not damaged or missing.

Print Quality Issues

There’s a piece of paper covering the OPC drum that must be removed prior to installation.

Holding the cartridge by its ends, gently rock the cartridge left to right a few times.

You can check the OPC drum located on the bottom by sliding off the spring loaded plastic cover.  Be careful not to touch the OPC drum.  Check to see if there are any scratches or debris.  You can use a soft lint-free cloth to gently clean off the OPC drum.

If the you are getting lines on your printing, their Laser Scanning Unit (LSU) may be dirty.  To clean it, do the following;

1 Open the top cover and remove the toner cartridge.

2 Pull up on the LSU cleaner and put it on the LSU.

3 Slide the LSU cleaner horizontally across a track on the top of the LSU.

If you are experiencing spots or excess toner,  print at least 10-15 pages consecutively to clean the paper path.
