THESE TONERS DO NOT HAVE THE OPC DRUM INTERGRATED. THE DRUM UNIT IS A SEPARATE, REPLACEABLE, MAINTENANCE ITEM.
Not Recognizing
There are no smart chips on these cartridges. There is a visual sensor inside the machine that will detect the toner powder. Try shaking the cartridge to make sure the toner powder is evenly distributed inside the cartridge.
Make sure the cartridge is installed correctly and locked into place. There’s a lever on the printer that needs to be down when installing the toner and then swung up once the toner is installed to lock it.
There is a protective cap on the cartridge that must be removed prior to installation. If it is not removed then you will experience issues fitting the cartridge and locking it.
Print Quality Issues
Verify the cartridge is locked into place properly. The lock lever on the printer opens the cartridge to allow the toner to come out. If it is not locked properly then the toner powder will not come out of the cartridge properly.
Holding the toner bottle firmly, shake it well vertically and horizontally to distribute the toner.
Ghosting, streaking, lines, and repetitive image defects are usually an issue with the drum unit. The drum unit is separate and will eventually need to be replaced, usually after 4-6 toner changes.
