INK TANK – The print heads are NOT integrated, do NOT perform the paper towel method.

These are compatible cartridges; there will be appearance differences from the OEM cartridges.  These differences will not affect the function of the cartridges.

The LC107 black is physically thicker than the LC105 color cartridges.  These are the ultra high capacity versions of the LC103 high yield cartridges.

Not Recognizing

 

Verify you have the correct cartridges for your specific printer model.

 

These cartridges use a smart chip located on the top of the cartridge.  Make sure that the cartridge is fully inserted into the printer.  Try removing the cartridge, disconnecting the power cord for 10-15 secs, re-connecting the power cord, then retrying the cartridge.

 

Be sure that the correct color is being installed into the correct color slot.  Also, check to make sure the cartridge is fully seated and snapped into place.  The color order from left to right is; Magenta, Cyan, Yellow, then Black.

 

To install the cartridges in a Brother MFC-J4410DW printer do the following;

–          Open the ink cartridge cover on the printer.

–          Press the lock release lever on the color cartridge you want to remove.

 

–          Remove the cartridge from the printer.

 

–          Make sure you have the correct color cartridge for the color you are replacing.  Insert the cartridge into the correct color slot and push firmly on the back of the cartridge until it latches into place.  Close the ink cartridge cover.

 

–          The printer will automatically reset the ink dot counter for the color being replaced.  If the printer does ask if you changed the cartridge, make sure to select Yes so that the ink dot counter is reset.

Print Quality Issues

 

Make sure to remove the yellow tape on the front of the cartridge.  This opens a vent hole.

 

There is a Print Quality Check Sheet that can be printed to help determine print quality issues.  This will help you determine if the issue is with a particular color.  To print this sheet do the following;

–          Press Settings.

–          Press ▲ or ▼ on the touchscreen to display General Setup.

–          Press General Setup.

–          Press Ink.

–          Press Test Print.

–          Press Print Quality.

–          Press Start.  The sheet will print out.

–          There will be four color blocks on the sheet, check these for issues or breaks.

 

–          The touchscreen asks you if the print quality is OK for black and then the three colors.  Select Yes or No depending on the print.

–          If you select NO, the touchscreen will ask if you want to start cleaning.  Select YES to begin cleaning.

To directly run a printhead cleaning, do the following;

–          Press Settings.

–          Press ▲ or ▼ on the touchscreen to display General Setup.

–          Press General Setup.

–          Press Ink.

–          Press ▲ or ▼ to display Cleaning.

–          Press Cleaning.

–          Press ▲ or ▼ to display Black, Color, or All.  Press the option you want to clean based on the print quality issue.

If the first cleaning doesn’t resolve the issue, it may be necessary to run an additional cleaning.  Printhead cleanings do consume ink so they should be done sparingly.

 

Not Fitting

 

Verify you have the correct cartridge for your specific printer model.  Check to make sure the correct color is being installed into the correct slot.  Sometimes these cartridges may need to be pushed more firmly than the OEMs to click into place properly.  Ensure you have the cartridge in the right direction and then try re-installing, pushing firmly until the cartridge clicks into place.
