INK TANK – The print heads are not integrated into the cartridge, do NOT perform the paper towel method.
These are compatible cartridges so there will be some differences from the OEM; these differences will not affect the function.
There are 4 cartridges in this series; Black, Cyan, Magenta, and Yellow. The black is physically thicker than the color cartridges. The black is pigment based ink, the color is dye based.
Not Recognizing
There is a smart chip located on the front of the cartridge. Inspect the chip for damage or debris. A lint-cloth can be used to gently clean the five gold contact points. With smart chip recognition, it’s best to remove the cartridge, disconnect the power cord for 10 seconds, re-connect the power cord, and reinstall the cartridge.
Verify you have the correct color cartridge installed into the correct color slot.
To remove and install these cartridges into a Lexmark Pro715 or Pro915 printer do the following;

Print Quality Issues
There is a tape seal on the top of the cartridge which must be removed prior to installation. This opens a vent hole that allows the ink to evacuate the cartridge properly.
If your printed output is streaked or has any incorrect or missing colors, the printhead should be cleaned. To clean the printhead do the following;
– Make sure you have standard copy paper loaded.
– On the printer control panel press HOME
– Select SETUP and press OK
– Select MAINTENANCE and press OK
– Use the ▲ or ▼ to scroll to CLEAN PRINTHEAD, then press OK
A cleaning page will print. If the problem isn’t resolved with the first cleaning it will be necessary to run a 2nd deep cleaning. Instead of selecting CLEAN PRINTHEAD select DEEP CLEAN PRINTHEAD to run the deep cleaning.
If the problem still isn’t resolved after 2 cleanings run a third cleaning but allow the printer to sit for 10-15 minutes before attempting to print. This allows the ink to soak on the printhead. Printhead cleanings should be done sparingly as they do consume ink.
If cartridge changes and cleanings do not resolve the print quality issues then the printhead may need replacing. The printhead is separate from the cartridges.
Not Fitting
Verify you have the correct cartridges for your specific printer model.
There is an orange protective clip on the outside of the cartridge which must be removed.
Make sure that any protective clips or pieces of tape have been removed. Check inside the printer for any obstructions. Check the cartridge itself for any physical damage.
Verify you are installing the correct color cartridge into the correct color slot.
