THESE TONER CARTRIDGES DO NOT HAVE THE OPC DRUM INTEGRATED.  THE DRUM UNIT IS A SEPARATE, REPLACEABLE, MAINTENANCE ITEM.

There are 4 different colors in this cartridge series; Black, Cyan, Magenta, and Yellow.

NOTE:  These are compatible cartridges so their appearance may differ greatly from the OEM.  They will still work and their appearance differences will have no effect on their performance.  The black is physically larger than the colors.

 

Not Recognizing

 

Verify you have the correct cartridges for your specific model printer.

 

There is a smart chip located on the top of the cartridge.  Check this chip for damage or debris.  A clean, dry, lint-free cloth can be used to gently clean the gold contacts.

 

Make sure the right color cartridge is being installed into the correct color slot.  From left to right the color order is; Magenta, Cyan, Yellow, and Black.

 

To remove and install these cartridges into a Ricoh Aficio CL7200/CL7300 printer do the following;

–          While pushing the lock button on the upper right cover of the printer, open the upper right cover.

 

–          Unhook the green hook on the color toner cartridge you are removing with one hand.

 

–          Holding the toner cartridge with the other hand, slowly pull it up and out.  Be careful not to shake the removed toner cartridge as the toner powder inside may scatter.

 

–          Make sure you have the correct color cartridge for the color you are replacing.  Holding the toner cartridge with the metal contact area in front, insert it in the direction of the arrow shown below.

 

–          Slowly insert the toner cartridge, until the green hook clips over the metal contact area.

 

–          Close the upper right cover.

 

–          The printer will then load the toner and a message will appear on the screen.

 

Print Quality Issues

 

Gently shake the toner cartridge over a trash can to redistribute the toner inside.  Do NOT shake roughly or toner leakage may occur.

 

If white lines are appearing in the print then the dustproof glass in the printer may require cleaning.  To clean the dustproof glass do the following;

–          Open the front cover, and then remove the cleaning brush.

 

–          There are four holes for cleaning the dustproof glass.

 

–          Slide the cleaning brush in and out slowly 8 to 10 times to clean all four areas.  Do NOT insert the brush roughly, doing so may damage the printer.

 

–          Return the cleaning brush to its original position.

–          Close the front cover.

 

Almost all ghost imaging, streaking, lines, or repetitive image defects will be an issue with the drum unit.  The drum is separate from the toner cartridges.

 

Not Fitting

 

Verify you have the correct cartridges for your specific printer model.  Make sure the correct color cartridge is being installed into the correct color slot.  Check inside the printer for any obstructions.  Check the cartridges themselves for physical damage.  Make sure the protective cap was removed from the end of the cartridge.
