THIS IS A TONER THAT HAS THE OPC DRUM BUILT INTO THE CARTRIDGE ITSELF AND IS REPLACED AS ONE WHOLE UNIT. THERE IS NO SEPARATE DRUM UNIT.
There are four different colors in this cartridge series; Black, Cyan, Magenta, and Yellow.
These are remanufactured cartridges.
Not Recognizing
Verify they have the correct cartridge for their specific model printer.
There is a smart chip located on the front of the toner cartridge. Check to make sure the gold contacts are not damaged or dirty. You can use a Q-Tip or lint-free cloth to gently dry wipe the connections.
Make sure the cartridge is installed fully and correctly. If the cartridge is not properly seated then the chip will not make proper contact with the printer sensor. Verify you have the correct color toner cartridge installed into the correct color slot.
To install these toner cartridges into an Infoprint Color 1754/1764 Series printer do the following;
– Open the front printer cover.
– Remove the color cartridge that needs replacing. Make sure to take note of the different color locations. Pull up slightly on the cartridge handhold. Pull the cartridge straight out and the use the handle to lift it off the guides.
– Make sure you have the correct color cartridge for the color being replaced. Insert the new toner cartridge into the correct color slot, then close the front cover.
Print Quality Issues
There is a protective cover over the OPC drum that will need to be removed prior to installation. Make sure this protective cover has been removed and that you do NOT touch the OPC drum.
There are also two other red plastic protective clips which must be removed from the cartridge. Ensure that all the red plastic protective pieces have been removed from the cartridge.
Shake the cartridge in all directions to re-distribute the toner inside.
If the toner is smearing off the paper or isn’t adhering properly, make sure the paper settings on the printer match the paper type being used. Thicker paper, such as labels or bonded paper, require a different paper setting to allow more heating while printing to ensure the toner melts properly to the paper. Trying to print on thicker paper while under that standard paper setting will cause the toner not to get enough heat to melt properly.
The OPC drum is located on the bottom of the cartridge. Each cartridge has the OPC drum built into the cartridge itself. Try to determine which color is giving the issue. Such as, do the streaks only occurs where a particular color is on the page? Once you narrow down the color check the OPC drum of that color for damage or debris. A dry, clean, soft, lint-free cloth can be used to gently clean the OPC drum.
Not Fitting
Verify you have the correct cartridges for your specific printer model. Make sure the correct color is going into the correct color slot. Make sure the protective has been removed from the cartridge. Check inside the printer for obstructions. Check the cartridge itself for physical damage.
