THESE TONER CARTRIDGES DO NOT HAVE THE OPC DRUM INTEGRATED.  THE DRUM UNIT IS A SEPARATE, REPLACEABLE, MAINTENANCE ITEM.

There are 4 colors in this series; Black, Cyan, Magenta, and Yellow.

These are compatible cartridges so their appearance may differ greatly from the OEM.  They will still work and their appearance differences will have no effect on their performance.  The black cartridge is physically much larger than the color cartridges.

These are the high capacity version of the 44469801, 44469703, 44469702, and 44469701 cartridges.  It is important to confirm these are the correct cartridges for your specific printer model as not all the printers that use the standard yield cartridges can use the high yield.

Not Recognizing

Verify you have the correct cartridges for your specific model printer.

This cartridge uses a smart chip located on the end of the cartridge.  Check this chip for damage or debris.  A clean, lint-free cloth can be used to gently clean the gold contacts.

Make sure that the correct color is being installed into the correct slot in the printer.

It is important to make sure the cartridge is installed correctly and fully locked into place.  To remove and install the toner cartridges into an Okidata MC561 MFP printer do the following;

–          Press <SETTING> on the control panel.

–          Press the ▼ key to select [SHUTDOWN], then press <OK>.

–          On the confirmation message, press the ◄ or ► keys to select [YES], then press <OK>.

–          When the screen prompts you to, press the off (O) side of the power switch.

–          Grasp the right end of the toner cartridge, and pull it up and out.

–          Make sure you have the correct color cartridge for the color being replaced.  Insert the new cartridge into the correct color slot in the printer.  Align the holes (1) of the drum unit with the posts on the left end of the toner cartridge (2).

–          Slide the blue locking sleeve to the left until it stops.  This will release the toner into the drum unit.

–          Lightly wipe the four LED heads located under the top cover with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth.  It is important to clean the LED heads any time a toner cartridge is replaced to prevent print quality issues.

–          Gently close the top cover and the scanner unit.

Print Quality Issues

Make sure that the LED heads were cleaned when the new toner cartridge(s) were installed.

Gently shake the cartridge from end to end several times to loosen and re-distribute the toner powder inside the cartridge.

Verify that the cartridge is fully locked inside the printer.  When the cartridge is locked this opens the toner shutters on the cartridge which releases the toner powder into the drum unit.  If the cartridge is not fully locked then the toner powder will not release properly from the cartridge.

Streaking, lines, ghost imaging, and repeating image defects are drum related issues.  The drum unit is a separate, replaceable, maintenance item.  After a certain period of usage the drum unit will need to be replaced.

Not Fitting

These toner cartridges install into a large one piece drum unit inside the printer.  Make sure that the drum unit is present inside the printer and that you are installing the toner cartridge into this drum unit.

Make sure the correct color cartridge is being installed into the correct color slot in the drum unit.  Check the toner cartridge for any physical damage.  Check inside the printer for any obstructions.
