THESE TONER CARTRIDGES DO NOT HAVE THE OPC DRUM INTEGRATED. THE DRUM UNIT IS A SEPARATE, REPLACEABLE, MAINTENANCE ITEM.
There are 4 colors in this series; Black, Cyan, Magenta, and Yellow.
These are compatible cartridges so their appearance may differ greatly from the OEM. They will still work and their appearance differences will have no effect on their performance. The black cartridge is physically much larger than the color cartridges.
Not Recognizing
Verify you have the correct cartridges for your specific model printer.
This cartridge uses a smart chip located on the end of the cartridge. Check this chip for damage or debris. A clean, lint-free cloth can be used to gently clean the gold contacts.
Make sure that the correct color is being installed into the correct slot in the printer.
It is important to make sure the cartridge is installed correctly and fully locked into place. To remove and install the toner cartridges into an Okidata C330dn printer do the following;
– Press the cover release and open the printer’s top cover fully.
– Slide the colored release collar (1) on the cartridge to be replaced fully towards the right hand side of the printer.
– Lift the right-hand end of the cartridge and then draw the cartridge to the right to release the left-hand end, and withdraw the toner cartridge out of the printer.
– Make sure you have the correct color cartridge for the color being replaced. Holding the cartridge by its top center, lower it into the correct color slot.
– Pressing gently down on the cartridge to ensure that it is firmly seated, slide the colored collar (1) fully towards the left hand side of the printer. This will lock the cartridge into place and release toner into the drum unit.
– Gently wipe the LED head surface located under the cover with a clean, dry, lint-free cloth. It is important to clean the LED heads any time a toner cartridge is changed to prevent print quality issues.
– Close the top cover and press down firmly so that the cover latches closed.
Print Quality Issues
Make sure that the LED heads were cleaned when the new toner cartridge(s) were installed.
Gently shake the cartridge from end to end several times to loosen and re-distribute the toner powder inside the cartridge.
Verify that the cartridge is fully locked inside the printer. When the cartridge is locked this opens the toner shutters on the cartridge which releases the toner powder into the drum unit. If the cartridge is not fully locked then the toner powder will not release properly from the cartridge.
Streaking, lines, ghost imaging, and repeating image defects are drum related issues. The drum unit is a separate, replaceable, maintenance item. After a certain period of usage the drum unit will need to be replaced.
Not Fitting
These toner cartridges install into a large one piece drum unit inside the printer. Make sure that the drum unit is present inside the printer and that you are installing the toner cartridge into this drum unit.
Make sure the correct color cartridge is being installed into the correct color slot in the drum unit. Check the toner cartridge for any physical damage. Check inside the printer for any obstructions.
