THIS TONER CARTRIDGE DOES NOT HAVE THE OPC DRUM INTEGRATED.  THE DRUM IS SEPARATE.

Not Recognizing

Verify you have the correct cartridge for your specific printer model.

There is no smart chip on this toner cartridge.  The printer detects the toner using a toner antenna inside the printer which uses static electricity to sense the amount of toner present.  Once the level gets to a certain point, it triggers the replace toner error.

To install this toner cartridge into a Canon NP-6512 do the following;

–          Pull the open/close lever found on the left of the machine to open the machine’s top unit.

–          Insert the toner cartridge into the machine.  Be sure to hold it horizontal and work with care.  Make sure that you insert the cartridge until it butts against the rear.

–          Pull off the sealing tape of the toner cartridge.  Press down on the toner cartridge and, while doing so, pick and pull the tab toward the front straight out.

–          Holding the grip of the toner cartridge, turn it counterclockwise until the cartridge locks into place.

–          Close the machine’s top unit by press down firmly.

Print Quality Issues

There’s a pull tape seal on the toner cartridge that will need to be removed once the toner is inserted into the copier.  Do NOT remove this seal tape while the cartridge is out of the copier as toner will leak from the cartridge.

Lines, streaking, ghost images, and repeating image defects are drum related issues.  The drum unit is a separate, replaceable, maintenance item.

Not Fitting

Verify you have the correct cartridge for your specific printer model.  Check to make sure the cartridge is being installed in the correct orientation.  Check inside the printer for any obstructions or debris which may be stopping the cartridge from being installed.  Check the cartridge itself for physical damage.
