THIS IS A THERMAL FAX FILM ROLL WITH THE CARTRIDGE FRAME. IT USES A CARBON FILM SHEET AND HEAT TO TRANSFER THE TEXT TO THE PAPER. AS PRINTING OCCURS THE USED FILM SHEET WILL ROLL TO ONE SIDE OF THE CARTRIDGE.
Not Recognizing
There is no chip used in the film cartridge, there is a “leader” built into the film that will trip a sensor so the machine knows a new roll has been installed. If you are getting a “Check Film” error then the film was not installed correctly into the machine. Follow the instructions below.
To remove and replace the film cartridge in a Panasonic KX-F1100 fax machine do the following;
– Slide the front cover open lever forward to unlock the front cover and lift to open.
– On the new cartridge, if the film is slack, tighten it by winding the bottom side gears.
– Insert the film cartridge by matching the label on the cartridge with that on the unit.
– Close the front cover securely by pushing down on both ends.
Print Quality Issues
If dirty patterns or black bands appear on a copied or received document then the thermal head may be dirty. To clean the thermal head do the following;
– Disconnect the power cord and telephone cord.
– Slide the lever forward to unlock the front cover and lift to open.
– Clean the thermal head with a cloth moistened with isopropyl rubbing alcohol, and make sure it completely dries.
– Close the front cover by gently pressing down on both ends.
– Connect the power cord and the telephone line cord.
