THIS IS A TONER THAT HAS THE OPC DRUM BUILT INTO THE CARTRIDGE ITSELF AND IS REPLACED AS ONE WHOLE UNIT. THERE IS NO SEPARATE DRUM UNIT.
Not Recognizing
Verify they have the correct cartridges for their specific printer model.
There’s a smart chip located on the back of each toner cartridge which has two gold connection points. Make sure the chip is clean and undamaged. You can use a dry, clean, lint-free cloth to clean the connections.
Ensure the cartridge is being installed correctly and is fitting properly into the printer. If the cartridge isn’t fully inserted the chip will not make proper contact with the printer sensor. There are arrows on the top of the cartridge which show the direction it should be installed.
Print Quality Issues
There is a pull seal on the side of the cartridges that must be completely pulled out prior to installing the cartridge into the printer. It is important that this pull seal is completely removed. There is also a piece of paper held on by tape that protects the OPC drum which must be removed prior to install.
Holding the cartridge by its ends, gently rock the cartridge from left to right a few times to evenly distribute the toner powder inside the cartridge.
The OPC drum is located on the front of the cartridge. Gently lift the plastic cover up and visually check the OPC drum for damage or debris. Do not touch the OPC drum. A clean, dry, soft, lint-free cloth can be used to gently wipe the OPC drum if needed. Do not use moisture of any kind.
There is no protective drum shutter on this cartridge to protect the OPC drum so caution must be taken in handling this cartridge to prevent damage to the drum.
