THIS IS A TONER THAT HAS THE IMAGING DRUM BUILT INTO THE CARTRIDGE ITSELF AND IS REPLACED AS ONE WHOLE UNIT. THERE IS NO SEPARATE DRUM.
Not Recognizing
Verify they have the correct cartridge for their specific printer model.
Make sure that the toner cartridge is installed properly in the printer and is fully inserted.
To remove and install this toner cartridge into a Konica Minolta QMS 2060 printer do the following;
– Press the upper unit lock release button and open the top cover.
– While grasping the grip area of the toner cartridge, remove the cartridge by pulling it up and then towards you.
– Hold the grooved area on the toner cartridge with your right hand, then with the arrow on the toner cartridge facing away from you angle the cartridge down into the printer. Place the cartridge on the rails inside the upper unit of the printer, and gently slide it straight down until it is firmly seated.
– Close the printer’s top cover.
Print Quality Issues
There is sometimes a pull tape seal on the side of the cartridge that must be removed prior to installation. It is important that this seal is completely removed if there is one. If the cartridge is printing blank pages or after 2-3 pages it is now printing blank then the pull tape seal has not been removed or has broken off inside the cartridge while being removed.
Holding the cartridge by its ends, gently rock the cartridge back and forth a few times to redistribute the toner inside the cartridge.
If lines are appearing the print head window glass may be dirty inside the printer. To clean the print head window glass do the following;
– Remove the toner as outlined in the instructions above.
– You can see the window glass if you face the printer from its rear. If the glass is especially dirty, use a cloth dampened with rubbing alcohol.
If the toner is smearing off the paper or isn’t adhering properly, make sure the paper settings on the printer match the paper type being used. Thicker paper, such as labels or bonded paper, require a different paper setting to allow more heating while printing to ensure the toner melts properly to the paper. Trying to print on thicker paper while under that standard paper setting will cause the toner not to get enough heat to melt properly.
The OPC drum is located on the bottom of the cartridge covered by a spring loaded plastic shutter. Lift the shutter up to view the drum. Do NOT touch the OPC drum. You can use a clean, dry, lint-free cloth to gently clean the drum. Do NOT use moisture of any kind.
Not Fitting
Verify you have the correct cartridge for your specific printer model. Make sure the cartridge is being installed in the correct direction. Check inside the printer for any obstructions that may be interferring with the installation of the toner cartridge. Check the toner cartridge itself for physical damage. Verify that the pull tape seal has been removed from the side of the cartridge.
