THESE ARE TONER CARTRIDGES THAT DO NOT HAVE AN INTEGRATED DRUM UNIT.  THE DRUM IS A SEPARATE UNIT FROM THE TONER CARTRIDGES.

There are 4 colors in this series; Black, Cyan, Magenta, and Yellow.

There is a waste toner box included with our compatible cartridge which will need to be replaced at the same time as the toner cartridge(s).

Not Recognizing

Verify they have the correct cartridge for their specific printer model.

This cartridge uses a RF or radio frequency sensor chip that’s located on the bottom of the cartridge underneath a yellow sticker. This chip does not make physical contact with the printer but rather sits in a specific position to be picked up by the printer’s sensor. Make sure that the cartridge is properly inserted and locks into place to ensure the chip is in the correct position. If the problem persists it is most likely an issue with the chip on the cartridge.

To remove and replace the toner cartridges in a FS-C5150DN/C5250DN printer do the following;

–          Open the top cover.

–          Carefully remove the color toner cartridge you are replacing.  Take care with handling as loose toner may leak.

–          Make sure you have the correct color cartridge for the cartridge you are replacing.  Holding the new toner cartridge with the toner feed slot facing down, align the left and right slots into the printer and insert it into the correct color slot.

–          Push down on the top of the toner cartridge to install it firmly in place.

–          Close the top cover.  If the top cover does not close, check that the toner cartridge is installed properly.

The waste toner box will need to replaced at the same time as the cartridges.  To replace the waste toner box do the following;

–          Open the waste toner box cover.

–          Press the lock button and gently remove the waste toner box.  Remove the waste toner box as gently as possible so as not to scatter the toner inside.  Do not let the opening of the waste toner box face downward.

–          Open the cap of the new waste toner box.

–          Insert the new waste toner box.  When the box is set correctly, it will snap into place.

–          Make sure that the waste toner box is correctly inserted and close the waste toner box cover.

Kyocera Mita requires that the printer must be cleaned when a toner cartridge is replaced.  Failure to clean the printer may cause print quality issues.  To clean the printer do the following;

–          Pull up the rear cover lever and open the rear cover.

–          Wipe away the paper dust on the registration roller and the paper ramp using a dry lint-free cloth.  Do NOT use moisture of any kind.

–          Close the rear cover.

Print Quality Issues

Make sure the cleaning outlined above was completed.

Shake the toner cartridge 5 or 6 times to distribute the toner evenly inside the cartridge.  Do not touch the toner feed slot.

Streaking, lines, repeating image defects, and ghosting are drum related issues.  The drum unit is separate and will need replacing after a certain period of usage as part of the routine maitenance.

Not Fitting

Verify you have the correct cartridges for your specific printer model.  Check inside the printer for any obstructions.  Check the cartridge itself for physical damage.
