THIS IS A TONER THAT HAS THE OPC DRUM BUILT INTO THE CARTRIDGE ITSELF AND IS REPLACED AS ONE WHOLE UNIT.  THERE IS NO SEPARATE DRUM UNIT.

Print Quality Issues

There is a piece of paper that is held on by tape on the bottom of the cartridge which must be removed prior to installation.

Gently shake the cartridge from side to side to redistribute the toner powder evenly inside the cartridge.

The OPC drum is located on the bottom of the cartridge.  Visually check for scratches or debris on the drum.  Do NOT touch the OPC drum.  If need be, clean the OPC drum using a dry, soft, lint-free cloth.  Do NOT use moisture of any kind.  There is no protective drum shutter on this cartridge to protect the OPC drum so caution must be taken in handling this cartridge to prevent damage to the drum.  Be careful with setting the cartridge down on a surface because being that the OPC drum is located on the bottom of the cartridge it can easily be scratched or nicked.

If the toner is smearing or rubbing off the page then the paper type setting may need to be adjusted to a thicker paper type setting.  When printing to label paper or card stock, the correct paper setting must be set on the printer to allow the toner to get the heat it needs to fuse properly to the page.  It may be necessary to change to a thicker paper setting even when printing to normal paper as different formulations in toner powder may require more heat to fuse properly.  If you are getting smearing or smudging, change to a thicker paper setting.

Not Fitting

Verify you have the correct toner cartridge for your specific printer model.  Check the toner cartridge for any seals that need to be removed and make sure there is no damage to the cartridge.  Look inside the printer for debris or obstructions which may be causing a problem with fitting.
