THIS IS A STAND ALONE DRUM UNIT, THE TONER CARTRIDGE IS NOT INCLUDED.  THE DRUM UNIT AND TONER CARTRIDGE ARE TWO SEPARATE UNITS.  THE OLD TONER CARTRIDGE OR A NEW TONER CARTRIDGE WILL NEED TO BE USED WITH THIS DRUM UNIT

 

Not Recognizing

 

Verify you have the correct drum unit for your particular machine.

 

Make sure that the drum unit is properly installed into the machine.

 

To install the drum unit in a Panasonic KX-MB2000, MB2010, and MB2030 do the following;

–          Make sure the toner cartridge is installed into the drum.  The toner cartridge is separate from the drum unit.  Place the toner cartridge (3) into the drum unit (4) vertically.

 

–          Press down the toner cartridge firmly (5).  Keep pressing while turning the lever on each side of the toner cartridge towards you (6).

 

–          Make sure that the arrows (7) match, to install the toner cartridge properly.

–          Open the top cover (8) by holding the indentations (9) on both sides of the unit.

 

–          Install the drum and toner cartridge (12) by holding the tabs.

 

–          Make sure that the arrows (13) match, to install the drum and toner cartridge correctly.

 

–          Close the top cover by holding the indentations on both sides of the unit, until locked.

 

Print Quality Issues

 

If the prints are coming out light, make sure that the toner save feature is not activated on the machine.  To ensure this feature is disabled, do the following;

–          Press #, 482.

–          Select 0 to deactivate this feature.

 

If the toner is smearing or smudging off the page, it may be necessary to switch the paper setting to higher stock.  You can access the paper type settings by pressing #, 383

 

If streaking or lines are appearing on documents that are being photo copied make sure the white plates and scanner glass are clean.

 

If the streaking, line, or ghost images are happening when printing a document from the printer this is a drum related issue and the drum will need to be replaced.

 

Not Fitting

 

Verify you have the correct drum unit for your particular machine.

 

There is a white protective paper held on by tape that must be removed prior to installation.

 

Make sure you are installing the drum unit with the separate toner cartridge installed.  Verify you are inserting the drum unit in the correct orientation.
