THIS IS AN INK CARTRIDGE WITH THE PRINT HEAD INTEGRATED.

Not Recognizing

Verify you have the correct cartridge for your specific model printer.

Using a coffee filter or a lint-free cloth gently wipe the gold/copper connection points found on the side of the cartridge.  Sometimes if dried ink, finger print oil, or some of the tape residue stays on the contacts it can cause the cartridge not to recognize.

Make sure the cartridge is installed properly and is fully inserted into the machine.

To remove and install this cartridge into the Hasler IM440 machine do the following;

–          Open the cover.  The ink cartridge moves to the replacement position.

–          Press down on the back of the ink cartridge to disengage it then lift out the ink cartridge.

–          Insert the new ink cartridge, and then push it until the click.

–          Close the cover.  The alignment process of the printing heads starts automatically.

Print Quality Issues

There may be an orange plastic protective clip that will need to be removed from the cartridge.

The print heads are located on the bottom of the cartridge.  Do NOT touch the print heads with your fingers.  Make sure nothing is stuck to the print heads which may be stopping the ink from coming out properly.

Take a warm damp paper towel or coffee filter and blot the cartridge with the print head facing down onto the paper towel to remove the dried ink on the print head. Then, taking a DRY paper towel or coffee filter, hold the cartridge down against the paper towel for 2-3 minutes. A dry paper towel will wick the ink out. Do not wipe the print head as this may cause damage.
