Print Quality Issues
There is a protective piece of tape that must be removed from the cartridge.

– Press the ◄ or ► repeatedly to display “Color Test”.
– Press SET to start printing.
Once you have isolated which drum is causing the issue you can run a cleaning on that drum to help clear up print quality issues such as smudges, blurred points, or lines. To clean the drum causing the issue, do the following;
– Press MENU then #480
– Select the color which has a printing problem in the color test list.
– Press SET to begin the cleaning. The printer will print out 3 pages of the selected color to help clean the drum.
Ghosting, lines, streaking, and repeating image defects will be an issue with the drum unit. There is a separate drum unit for each color and the drums are replaceable, maintenance items. The drums will need to be replaced after a certain period of usage.
If the toner is not adhering to the page and flakes off, especially when printing on paper thicker than standard plain copy paper (IE label paper, bonded paper, etc), this can be caused by the fuser in the printer or more commonly, the incorrect paper setting on the printer. When printing on any paper outside of standard plain paper, you will need to manually switch the paper setting through the control panel on the printer itself. The paper setting is usually found through the menu option Settings and then Paper on the printer. Go to Paper Type or Paper Setting and make sure the correct paper type is selected for the paper you are printing to. Changing the paper setting ensures the fuser gets hot enough to transfer the heat through the thick paper and properly melt the toner. If you are printing to standard paper and are experiencing toner adhesion problems, this can still be resolved by selecting a thicker paper type setting on the printer. It could be a case of too much moisture in the paper or toner which requires a hotter fuser or longer fuser contact time to properly melt the toner.
Not Fitting

Check that the cartridge is being installed in the correct orientation. Look inside the printer for any obstructions. Check the cartridge itself for physical damage.
