THESE ARE TONER CARTRIDGES THAT DO NOT HAVE AN INTEGRATED DRUM UNIT.  THE DRUM IS A SEPARATE UNIT FROM THE TONER CARTRIDGES.

There are 4 colors in this series; Black, Cyan, Magenta, and Yellow.

NOTE:  These are compatible cartridges that look MUCH different from the OEMs.  Their different shape and size will make it look like they will not fit however, they will fit and work.  As long as you have the correct cartridges for your specific printer model and are installing the correct color into the correct slot, the cartridges will fit and work.

There is a waste toner box included with our compatible cartridge which will need to be replaced at the same time as the toner cartridge(s).

Not Recognizing

Verify you have the correct cartridge for your specific printer model.

This cartridge uses a RF or radio frequency sensor chip that’s located on the bottom of the cartridge. This chip does not make physical contact with the printer but rather sits in a specific position to be picked up by the printer’s sensor. Make sure that the cartridge is properly inserted and locks into place to ensure the chip is in the correct position. If the problem persists it is most likely an issue with the chip on the cartridge.

To remove and install the toner cartridges into a Kyocera Mita FS-C5400 printer do the following;

–          Open the top cover.

–          Remove the color toner cartridge you are replacing from the printer.

–          Make sure you have the correct color cartridge for the color you are replacing.  Set the new toner cartridge into the correct color slot.

–          Push down on the top of the toner cartridge to install it firmly in place.

–          Close the top cover.

The waste toner box will need to replaced at the same time as the cartridges.  To replace the waste toner box do the following;

–          Open the left cover.

–          While holding the waste toner box, press the lock lever and then gently remove the waste toner box.

–          Open the cap of the new waste toner box.

–          Insert the new waste toner box.  When the box is set correctly, it will snap into place.

–          Make sure that the waste toner box is correctly inserted and close the left cover.

Kyocera Mita requires that the printer must be cleaned when a toner cartridge is replaced.  Failure to clean the printer may cause print quality issues.  To clean the printer do the following;

–          Press the lever to release the lock.

–          Pull out the front cover.

–          Wipe away the paper dust on the registration roller, the paper ramp, and the paper guide using the cleaning cloth.

–          Push the front cover back in completely.

Print Quality Issues

Make sure the cleaning outlined above was completed.

If the toner is not adhering to the page and flakes off, especially when printing on paper thicker than standard plain copy paper (IE label paper, bonded paper, etc), this can be caused by the fuser in the printer or more commonly, the incorrect paper setting on the printer.  When printing on any paper outside of standard plain paper, you will need to manually switch the paper setting through the control panel on the printer itself.  The paper setting is usually found through the menu option Settings and then Paper on the printer.  Go to Paper Type or Paper Setting and make sure the correct paper type is selected for the paper you are printing to.  Changing the paper setting ensures the fuser gets hot enough to transfer the heat through the thick paper and properly melt the toner.  If you are printing to standard paper and are experiencing toner adhesion problems, this can still be resolved by selecting a thicker paper type setting on the printer.  It could be a case of too much moisture in the paper or toner which requires a hotter fuser or longer fuser contact time to properly melt the toner.

Shake the toner cartridge 5 or 6 times to distribute the toner evenly inside the cartridge.  Do not touch the toner feed slot.

Not Fitting

Verify you have the correct cartridges for your specific printer model.

These are compatible cartridges that look MUCH different from the OEMs.  Their different shape and larger size will make it look like they will not fit however, they will fit and work.  As long as you have the correct cartridges for your specific printer model, the cartridges will fit and work.

Notice in the picture below in top left picture that the OEM black cartridge has a space between it and the yellow but in the bottom left picture when our black cartridge is installed it sits higher and the space disappears due to the larger size.  Our cartridges are larger and have a different shape as demonstrated in the picture on the right.

Make sure the correct color is being installed into the correct slot.  Check inside the printer for any obstructions.  Check the cartridges themselves for damage.
