THIS TONER CARTRIDGE DOES NOT HAVE INTEGRATED DRUM UNIT.  THE DRUM IS A SEPARATE UNIT FROM THE TONER CARTRIDGE.

Not Recognizing

Verify you have the correct cartridge for your specific printer model.  This is a very basic toner cartridge and does not contain a smart chip or electronics of any kind.

The printer monitors when the toner cartridge is empty by using an electrical current in the drum reservoir.  When the current goes above a certain voltage the light to replace the toner is triggered.  Shaking the toner cartridge is recommended as the toner can become compacted and not feed into the drum reservoir properly causing a false voltage reading.

To remove and install the toner cartridge into a Ricoh Aficio 1060 do the following;

–          Open the front cover of the machine.  Pull out the lever under the toner bottle toward you 90 degrees.

–          Raise the green lever, and then gently pull out the toner bottle.

–          Place the new toner bottle in position, then push it in until the green lever clicks.  If you cannot get it to click in, pull out the toner bottle a little, slightly rotate it to the right by 10-20 degrees, then try again.

–          Return the lever under the toner bottle to its original position.  Close the front cover of the machine.

Print Quality Issues

Try rocking the cartridge back and forth a few times to redistribute the toner powder inside the cartridge.

There is an outer protective cap on the cartridge that must be removed prior to installation.  Do NOT remove the inner cap.

Ghosting, lines, streaking, and repeating defects will be a drum related issue.  The drum unit is separate from the toner cartridge and is a replaceable, maintenance item.  After a certain period of usage the drum will need replacing.

Not Fitting

Verify you have the correct toner cartridge for your specific printer model.  Check inside the printer for any obstructions.  Check the cartridge itself for physical damage.
